5. Tropical Diseases:

Two diseases falling under this category, namely malaria and dengue, have been a major cause of death in the country. The World Health Organisation (WHO) currently estimates 15,000 deaths per year in India, caused by malaria alone.

  • Keep your home environment clean.
  • Use mosquito nets wherever possible.
  • Stay away from stagnant water as it acts as breeding ground for mosquitoes.
